Texas Instruments TX7364 Analog Front End (AFE) Transmitter
Texas Instruments TX7364 Analog Front End (AFE) Transmitter is a highly integrated, high-performer transmitter that supports a 64-channel 3-level pulser and active Transmit/Receive (T/R) switch. This transmitter features a 400MHz high speed (maximum) and a 2-lane LVDS serial programming interface. The TX7364 transmitter supports a CMOS serial programming interface (50MHz maximum) and integrates on-chip floating power supplies that reduce the number of required high-voltage power supplies. This AFE transmitter includes an internal temperature sensor and an automatic thermal shutdown. This transmitter is ideal for ultrasound imaging systems, piezoelectric drivers, and in-probe ultrasound imaging. The pulser circuit generates three-level high-voltage pulses (up to ±100V) to excite multiple ultrasound transducer channels. The active T/R switch features a 26Ω turn-on resistance, a 100ns turn-on and turn-off time, and a 10mVpp transient glitch. The on-chip beamformer includes a delay resolution of 2.5ns maximum half beamformer clock period and 200MHz maximum beamformer clocks peed. The TX7364 AFE transmitter comes in an FC-BGA-196 (12mm x 12mm) with a 0.8mm pitch small package.
