Benewake TF-UW500 Underwater Single-Point ToF LiDAR
Benewake TF-UW500 Underwater Single-Point ToF LiDAR is a high‑precision underwater single‑point LiDAR sensor engineered to deliver reliable distance measurement, mapping, and positioning beneath the water’s surface. The Benewake TF-UW500 adopts a direct Time-of-Flight (dToF) solution. It maintains the compact design and low power efficiency of its predecessor, while achieving a tenfold increase in detection range in low-turbidity water. The dToF solution enables underwater robots to achieve breakthroughs in both precise mapping and stable positioning.
TF-UW500 features an eye-safe Class 1 visible laser and delivers a small laser spot with excellent directionality and a wide incidence angle. With centimeter-level accuracy and millimeter-level repeatability, the TF-UW500 delivers exceptional distance-measurement precision. The device combines hardware-level filtering with advanced anti-glare algorithms and maintains stable performance even under strong light or in turbid water. Calibrated across 10+ common pool materials, TF-UW500 ensures consistent accuracy and smooth underwater navigation without wobble.
Thanks to the eye-visible red laser with a narrow 0.5° divergence angle and an advanced SPAD ultra-high-sensitivity single-photon detection chip, the TF-UW500 also delivers effortless, reliable ranging performance in air. Within an indoor range of up to 14m, the device maintains an accuracy of <3cm. The high-brightness red visible laser spot enables "point-and-measure" operation. This measurement style significantly simplifies installation, commissioning, and deployment in industrial production lines and warehouse logistics automation. During routine production line maintenance, the TF-UW500 makes it easier to identify false alarms caused by shifts in the LiDAR's detection position.
