Analog Devices / Maxim Integrated iButton® Devices

Analog Devices iButton® Devices are computer chips enclosed in a 16mm thick stainless steel can. Because of this unique and durable container, up-to-date information can travel with a person or object anywhere they go. The steel iButton device can be mounted virtually anywhere because it is rugged enough to withstand harsh environments indoors or outdoors. The Analog Devices Button Devices are small and portable enough to attach to a key fob, ring, watch, or other personal items, and they can be used daily for applications such as access control to buildings and computers, asset management, and various data logging tasks.

Data Loggers

Temperature and humidity data loggers are designed for use in specific applications. These applications include pharmaceutical and life science cold chain distribution, fresh produce distribution, process monitoring, environmental monitoring, and autoclave temperature data logging. Each device is programmable and can be re-programmed and used for many years. iButton® data loggers are durably packaged modules enhanced by our 1-Wire communications protocol. Analog Devices iButton Thermochron® temperature data loggers make it simple and inexpensive to monitor and log critical asset temperature data, helping ensure integrity throughout the manufacturing process, sterilization cycle, or cold chain distribution. For applications where temperature and humidity are essential, iButton Hygrochron™ data loggers record and report temperature and humidity data as a function of time. Our USB temperature data logger has an external thermistor probe to log temperature in extremely cold environments.

Asset Management

Analog Devices iButton devices offer a simple, secure way of identifying assets. Each iButton device has a unique 64-bit address that can be used as an electronic serial number that is never duplicated. Additionally, onboard memory of up to 32kB gives assets their own personalized database. This database enables the storage of unique information about each asset, including maintenance records and inventory management information permanently affixed to each asset. Wear-tested to last 10 years, iButton devices bring unparalleled durability to support- and data-management applications—even in harsh industrial and outdoor environments.
