TPS730 LDO Low-Power Linear Voltage Regulators

Texas Instruments TPS730 LDO Low-Power Linear Voltage Regulators feature a high power-supply rejection ratio (PSRR), fast start-up, low noise, and excellent line and load transient responses in a small SOT-23 package. NanoStar packaging has an ultra-small footprint, ultra-low profile, and package weight. This package makes it ideal for portable applications like handsets and PDAs. Each device in the family is stable, with a small 2.2µF ceramic capacitor on the output. The TPS730 family uses a proprietary, advanced BiCMOS fabrication process to yield low dropout voltages. Each device consumes low quiescent current (170µA typical) and achieves fast start-up times (approximately 50µs with a 0.001µF bypass capacitor). The supply current is reduced to less than 1µA when the device is placed in standby mode. The Texas Instruments TPS73018 exhibits approximately 33µV_RMS of output voltage noise at 1.8V output with a 0.01µF bypass capacitor. Applications with noise-sensitive analog components, such as portable RF electronics, benefit from the high PSRR and low-noise features and the fast response time.
