APDS-9151 Digital Proximity & RGB Sensors

Broadcom APDS-9151 Digital Proximity and RGB Sensors offer a digital I2C compatible interface ambient light sensor (ALS), RGB, and proximity sensor with IR LED in a single 8-pin package. The APDS-9151 uses four individual channels (Red, Green, Blue, and IR) in a specially designed matrix arrangement. This achieves an optimal angular response and accurate RGB spectral response with high lux accuracy over various light sources. The proximity detection feature goes from bright sunlight to dark rooms producing excellent results. The micro-optics lenses within the module allow highly efficient transmission and reception of infrared energy, lowering overall power dissipation. The device utilizes the low-power standby mode resulting in a very low average power consumption.
