SATA Connectors

3M™ Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) Interconnect System is a next generation, high-speed interface for optical, solid state and hard disk drive (HDD) applications aimed at reducing size, increasing transmission speed, improving data reliability and increasing ease of use. SATA, along with Serial Attached SCSI (SAS), is the next in 3M’s development for serial data I/O solutions targeting the disk drive storage market. The range of board-level interconnects comprises 7-pin 3M™ SATA Signal Plug, Boardmount, SMT Right Angle and PTH Vertical; 22-pin 3M™ SATA Combo Device Plugs and 3M™ SATA Combo Receptacles. Mating cable assemblies comprise 7-contact 3M™ SATA Signal Cable, Straight, Right Angle and Combination and 3M™ SATA Power Cable, Y Configuration. All of the SATA connectors are designed to interface with standard 2.5” and 3.5” HDD. The connectors are RoHS* Compliant.

5622 Series SATA Receptacles

3M™ 5622 Series SATA Receptacles include 22-position signal and power combination I/O connectors for backplane applications. The 5622 series meets the SATA2.6 specification and features EMLB contacts for "hot swap" capability and blind mate polarization for easy cable attachment.

Storage Connectors

3M offers connectors for disk drive storage devices and removable memory cards based on popular industry standards. 3M SATA and SAS products are designed to reduce size, increase transmission speed, improve data reliability, and facilitate ease of use. SAS connectors meet SFF 8482 Standard. Where first-generation SAS connectors supported data rates up to 3Gbps, second-generation miniSAS doubles those data rates to 6Gbps. MiniSAS products conform to the SFF 8086, 8087, and 8088 standards.
